Do I need a referral?
No! All of our services are direct access which means your child can access any of our services without a referral from a physician. However, some extended health benefits plans do require a referral, so please check with your insurance provider.
Are services covered under OHIP?
Our rehabilitation services are not covered by OHIP, but may be covered under your extended health benefits package. Check with your provider for details!
Do you direct bill to insurance companies?
Yes, we do direct bill most insurance companies! The front desk staff are happy to assist you with more information.
Are your services covered through the Ontario Autism Program (OAP)?
The Ontario Autism Program funding does cover many of the services that we offer. The OAP has a selection of “core clinical services” including speech language pathology, occupational therapy, and mental health services (social work). We are working hard to have physiotherapy included!
Are parents able to attend and/or leave during their child’s appointment?
Yes to both! Parents are able to attend any session. We do have a “leaving premises waiver” that we require all parents or caregivers to complete before leaving their child at the clinic. In addition to signing the waiver, the therapist also has to provide consent to the caregiver leaving.
Are siblings able to come to an appointment?
Yes! Siblings are always welcome at Oscar’s Place.
